Ex-girlfriend of man accused of starving daughter to death also facing charges
The former girlfriend of the Schenectady man accused of starving his young daughter to death is now facing charges in the case.
Brandi Terhune, 22, was arraigned in Schenectady County Court Monday on a felony count of tampering with physical evidence and two misdemeanor two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Terhune also resided at the 203 Elmer Ave. home, where police said Robert Buskey, 33, allegedly starved his 5-year-old daughter to death, court documents showed. In addition, Buskey’s 3-year-old son had cocaine in his system, according to police.
Terhune is accused of trying to conceal cocaine to obstruct the investigation around April 13-14, according to the indictment on the tampering count. The child endangerment charges relate to both children and allege that she “knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a child.”
Terhune pleaded not guilty, and she was released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on July 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Buskey is facing an 11-count indictment on charges that include second-degree murder, manslaughter, criminal sale of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a child.
He is currently being held without bail.
