False report of gun prompted police presence on Lawn Avenue

Albany Police have released more details about an incident on Lawn Avenue on Tuesday that prompted a large response.

The incident happened at around 4 p.m. Police received a call from a women having a mental health crisis. She stated that there was a man in the street with a gun, Albany Police spokeswoman Megan Craft said.

Officers arrived and detained a couple of people until they could investigate further. Police cleared the scene after they determined there was no one in the street with a gun.
