A peaceful demonstration and march happened Saturday afternoon from Riverside Park in the Stockade neighborhood to the police station.

The goal of this event was to spark renewed public interest in the case, which is at a standstill because the medical examiner says there is insufficient medical evidence to determine a cause of death.

Samamtha was a Schenectady high school student who went missing after her family says she went to meet her ex- boyfriend in Riverside Park last November.

On February 22, a fisherman spotted her body in the water.

Police are investigating Samantha’s death as a homicide.

The event Saturday in Schenectady started at 1 o’clock.
