The family of a 22-year-old Saratoga Springs woman murdered in 1980 is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the person responsible for her death. Sheila Shepherd, 22, was found dead in her Church Street apartment on Nov. 25, 1980 at around 10 a.m.

Sheila Shepherd, 22, was found dead in her Church Street apartment on Nov. 25, 1980 at around 10 a.m.

Shepherd was last seen on Nov. 23 downtown. After not showing up at school for several days, her family was contacted and she was located at her apartment, police said.

The investigation has continued but has yielded few leads, police said. Investigators believe that the person responsible for the crime knew Shepherd.
