A man will be swimming the length of the Hudson River to raise awareness about the river’s health.

Lewis Pugh, a legendary British endurance swimmer, joined Mayor Kathy Sheehan at the Albany River Boat Launch on Friday to discuss his plans to take on the 315-mile river.

This would not be the first time Pugh has done something like this.

He has taken on the waters of Antarctica, the North Pole, the Red Sea, and the Himalayas.

During the event, Mayor Sheehan also addressed the Beaver Creek River Project, which is aimed at improving the quality of the Hudson River’s water.
