A firefighter was hurt in a Schenectady fire early Thursday morning. The fire broke out just before 4:30 a.m. at 1223 8th Ave.

The fire broke out just before 4:30 a.m. at 1223 8th Ave.

The building has three units in it. Everyone made it out safely, investigators said.

It took about 35 minutes for firefighters to get everything under control.

The firefighter was taken to Ellis Hospital and is expected to be OK. No one else was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Red Cross is now helping several victims.
