Firefighters quickly extinguish blaze at vacant Albany house
Albany firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at a vacant house on Swinton St. on Saturday.
The fire department received a call at about 8:43 a.m. reporting a fire at the two-story wood-framed house at 52 Swinton St. between Thornton and Judson streets. A total of 23 firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes after arriving on scene, according to Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory.
No one was injured.
The fire appeared to originate on the first floor, Gregory said.
The cause is still under investigation.
