The family of the little girl kidnapped from Moreau Lake State Park will ask the governor tomorrow for a new law to protect children who’ve been victimized.

NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland has learned that the Sena Family of Saratoga County is teaming up with two state legislators calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to add new protections for young survivors.

The Senas, Senator Jim Tedisco, a Republican, and Democratic Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara want the governor to include money in her budget to make sure child survivors have a dedicated advocate present during all questioning and proceedings.

Often, when children have to share their story there is either no advocate present or a different person accompanies them each time.

Those same legislators will also ask the governor tomorrow to establish a dedicated Cold Case unit of the New York State Police.

That proposal has the strong support of Mary Lyall, whose daughter, Suzanne, went missing from the U-Albany Campus in 1998.
