First responders in Waterford, Halfmoon to benefit from big federal grants

Two local first responder organizations will benefit from more than $345,000 in federal grants.
Halfmoon-Waterford fire district No. 1 will receive $309,000 to buy new self-contained breathing apparatuses.
The Waterford Rescue Squad will get more than $36,000 to buy other critical new safety equipment.
The funding comes from FEMA’s assistance to firefighters’ grants.
