The first Friday in Lent is one of the busiest days of the year for fish restaurants, as people honor the Catholic tradition of abstaining from meat and instead opting for a fish fry.
NewsChannel stopped by Ted’s Fish Fry on Western Avenue, and the line was long.
Ted’s – with several Capital Region location – could serve 4,500 pounds of fish in a typical week. That increases to around 7,000 pounds during Lent.
