Body of missing fisherman recovered in the Mohawk River on Tuesday.
The body of the fisherman who fell into the Mohawk River from Lock 12 was recovered on Tuesday.
Searchers found the body of Nicholas J. Williams, 31, of Gloversville, in the vicinity of the area where he was last seen after a five-day search.
Williams fell into the river in Fort Hunter at around 11:30 a.m. Friday after his fishing line had gotten snagged and he dropped his pole. He bent down to grab it and fell in.
“Our thoughts are with Mr. Williams’s family. We hope they find some comfort in knowing that Nicholas has been found,” Sheriff Jeffrey Smith said in a statement.
