Five teens in Troy charged in weapons possession investigation

Five teens are facing weapons charges in Troy.

Two 17-year-olds, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old are all charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The 15-year-old is also charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Police found the weapons during a traffic stop near Griswold Heights Apartments on Wednesday afternoon. The traffic stop was part of ongoing patrols in that area.

The teens were released due to lack of space in the juvenile detention facility. They are being tracked through electronic monitoring and are due in court at a later date.
