A Fonda man is accused of rape.

Mason Suchocki, 23, allegedly had sex with a girl under 17, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

It happened in the town of Mohawk and was reported in October. Suchocki was arrested this week.

He is not accused of forcing the girl to have sex, investigators said. However, she was too young to legally consent.

Suchocki was charged with third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sex act. He was arraigned in Mohawk Town Court. He is free on $1,000 bail.
