Eight forest rangers came home Sunday after spending two weeks in Quebec working on multiple fires.
The overall goal was to seek and destroy hotspots.

The fires in Canada span about 24 million acres.

The eight Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers were part of a 20-person crew that was sent in.

The ones not from New York came from Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
