Former Assemblyman Pat Casale passed away

Former Assemblyman Pat Casale died Friday at home, surrounded by his family.

He grew up in Troy, beginning his political career as a member of the Troy City Council.

He went on to become the mayor of Troy, the Rensselaer County Clerk, and New York State Assemblyman.

He also owned a wine and liquor store.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Mary, as well as many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Transfiguration Parish (formerly St. Bonaventure’s Church in Speigletown) 50 Hillview Drive in Troy, and to his Mass of Christian Burial in Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
