Former news website editor facing child pornography charges

The former editor of a Berkshire County news website is facing charges for allegedly having child porn.

That’s according to our media partners at The Berkshire Eagle.

Slade Sohmer, from Otis, Massachusetts, was arrested for allegedly having hundreds of inappropriate pictures and videos of kids, officials said.

Multiple phones and computers were found during a search of Sohmer’s home last week, according to police.

He was the editor-in-chief of the online news site The Recount.

Assistant District Attorney Marianne Shelvey called this one of the worst cases of its kind she has ever seen.
