Former New York State Senator James Seward has died.
Seward served in the State Senate from 1987 until 2020.
In the later half of his career, he represented New York’s 51st Senate District, which includes parts of Schoharie and Herkimer counties.
He served as Chairman on several committees and was a ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee.
He was also a delegate for three Republican National Conventions.
Seward was 72-years-old.
