The former owner of an ice cream shop in Schenectady is facing up to a year in jail.

David Elmendorf pleaded guilty this week to two counts of menacing.

This goes back to an incident at Bumpy’s Polar Freeze in the summer of 2020. Elmendorf pointed a pellet gun at people who were part of a protest outside the business.

He faces up to 364 days in jail on each count when he is sentenced on April 3.

Bumpy’s closed months after the incident.
