Fort Johnson fire displaces 3 adults, one infant

Three adults and a 9-month-old baby were displaced by a fire on Tuesday in Fort Johnson.

The Fort Johnson Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Brant Avenue just after 5 p.m. Other fire companies from Amsterdam, Berkshire, Cranesville, Glen, Hagaman, Perth, and Tribes Hill responded to the scene, according to the department’s Facebook page. Lake Valley Ambulance Service, Montgomery County emergency agencies and Advantage Towing also assisted.

The Red Cross provided financial assistance for shelter, food and clothing to the residents displaced as well as emotional support and stuffed animals for the child. One resident is a veteran, according to a news release.

No information was available as to the cause of the fire.
