Four juveniles arrested in separate Cohoes crimes

Cohoes Police have arrested four juveniles in two separate incidents on Wednesday.

Officers responded to the area of Imperial Avenue around 11:40 a.m. for a report of two juveniles attempting to steal a vehicle. A witness told police they tried to get in and start the engine without a key. They left on foot into a wooded area. Following a brief search, officers arrested two 15-year-olds. They are facing a potential charge of grand larceny.

At around 12:10 p.m., police responded to an address on Younglove Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress. The caller told police that she was alerted by her security system and saw on video two males break a basement window to gain access to the home. They left through the front door. After chasing the two males, they eventually caught them.

The youths are 17 and 15 years old. They are facing charges of burglary, criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration and petit larceny.

The two juveniles were turned over to their guardians. The 17-year-old is set to appear in Albany County Court and the 15-year-old’s case will be handled in Albany County Family Court.
