Friends, family to mark one year since Kaylin Gillis’ death on Monday
Friends and family of Kaylin Gillis will gather on Monday to mark one year since she was shot and killed in a Washington County driveway.
The 20-year-old from Schuylerville was with a group of friends looking for a house party when they got lost. The owner of home, Kevin Monahan, fired two shots at the cars as they were turning around in the driveway. One of the bullets struck Gillis and killed her.
Monahan was convicted of murder and is serving 25-years to life in prison.
Gillis’ friends and family will gather for a memorial in Schuylerville. They will light candles and write messages to her.
In addition, Mike Newhouse, of Flags4Fallen, will be wearing a pin when he runs the Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon on Saturday.
NewsChannel 13’s Subrina Dhammi will be at the memorial on Monday and will bring you live coverage starting Live at 4.
