Family, friends and colleagues said their final goodbyes Thursday to New York State Trooper Patrick Hogan.

Hogan died last Thursday at the age of 61 from an illness stemming his work at the World Trade Center in 2001.

Hogan’s funeral was held at Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Hogan served with the New York State Police for 22 years. He retired in 2018. He also served more than seven years in the Marines.

He lived in North Greenbush for the past 25 years.

Hogan’s legacy will be his love for his community, his colleagues said.
