Members of several local police and fire departments showed their support Friday.

Frankoski, 28, went to Columbia High School in East Greenbush. Her service to her country began with a desire to serve her Capital Region community, carrying on a tradition in her own family. Her father, James Frankoski, served as Rensselaer’s police chief. Casey served as a volunteer firefighter with the Best Luther Fire Department.

Several people spoke at the funeral, including Frankoski’s cousin and Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Frankoski’s body was then taken to Saratoga National Cemetery, where she was buried.

Chief Warrant Officer John Grassia III, a New York State trooper who lived in Albany County, also died in the same crash.

His calling hours will be Monday, March 25 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St.  John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John’s Tuesday at 11 a.m. He will also be buried at Saratoga National Cemetery.
