The New York Gaming Commission’s Division of Lottery is asking people not to give out lottery tickets to children.

Those tickets can often be the first time kids are exposed to gambling, according to the chair of the Gaming Commission.

They hope to raise awareness about the risks associated with youth gambling.

Approximately 60% of high school aged students say they have gambled for money during the past year, according to the group.
