Gas prices up in Capital Region, nation
Average gas prices are up. The recent record-breaking heat is to blame.
Refineries in the United States are not able to deal with the high temperatures. Some have had to go offline for significant amounts of time, according to AAA.
Prices at home are a bit higher than the national average, which sits around $3.75 per gallon. It’s around $3.81 a gallon in the Capital Region – a 12¢ jump from last week. However, it’s still cheaper than things one year ago, when a gallon of regular cost around $4.52.
