Gillibrand discusses plans to improve military justice

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is highlighting the fight to improve military justice for our veterans.

She held a press conference Wednesday morning in Washington, D.C. to talk about this year’s “National Defense Authorization Act.”

While last year’s defense bill did make some important changes – including giving some powers to the Office of Special Trial Counsel – Gillibrand says it left many critical powers with commanders.      

She says she worked hard to change the bill to re-allocate their remaining powers to other officers.
