Gillibrand introduces bill she says would help eliminate food deserts
U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is working to eliminate food deserts in New York state.
Gillibrand was in Latham alongside other state and county leaders on Monday to introduce her Healthy Food Financing Initiative Reauthorization Act.
The bill could help bring a grocery store to Albany’s South End, where residents have gone more than two decades without consistent access to one in their neighborhood, Gillibrand said.
