Gillibrand pushes for bill to reduce farmer suicides
Suicide rates for farmers is three and a half times higher than it is for the general population. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is pushing for legislation to change that.
Gillibrand outlined a plan called the “National Agricultural Crisis Hotline Act.”
It would establish a 24/7 national crisis hotline to provide real-time live assistance catered to the unique needs of farmers, ranchers and their families.
