Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says she is recommitting herself to passing a bill, giving health benefits to 9/11 first responders and survivors.
Gillibrand said her “9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding Correction Act” was omitted from next year’s spending plan.
The legislation would close a $3.6 billion funding gap in the World Trade Center health program.
Gillibrand says she intends to fix this omission – either in another spending package – or as a standalone bill.
