Glenmont-based Alzheimer’s research facility gets $275k grant

One local lawmaker hopes a new grant will go a long way towards fighting Alzheimer’s.

Congressman Paul Tonko announced Friday night early Alzheimer’s Diagnostics LLC of Glenmont has been awarded a national science foundation grant totaling nearly $275,000 for a project.

The goal is to develop saliva screening tests that can detect Alzheimer’s disease before the onset of devastating symptoms such as memory loss.
