Glens Falls Police have arrested 16 juveniles in connection with a series of incidents over the summer where they allegedly assaulted residents.

The department made the announcement on its Facebook page on Wednesday morning but is not releasing detailed information because of the age of the suspects. The charges include assault as well as gang assault.

Their cases are being handled in Warren County Family Court.

Five parents and guardians of some of these youths also were arrested for “failing to exercise control of the minor for which they are responsible,” police said.

Police are thanking the public for reporting the incidents and being cooperative with the investigations.

“We continue to monitor the downtown area as well as the entire city regarding any new instances of activity,” the department said in a news release.

Anyone who sees illegal activity is asked to contact the Glens Falls Police Department at 518-761-3840.
