There’s another big boost for Saratoga County computer chipmaker GlobalFoundries. Qualcomm has agreed to buy an additional $4.2 billion worth of semiconductors from them.

It’s been a good week for GlobalFoundries. Congress passed The CHIPS Act last week.

Once the president signs it, federal money targeted for making more U.S. chips is expected to help the company expand in Malta and Stillwater, and build another fab to add another 1,000 jobs.
