Pickleball Tournament at Albany Capital Center

It’s been called the fastest growing sport in the country – pickleball.
The Albany Capital Center is hosting a pickleball tournament this weekend.
Nearly 200 picklers will battle it out on six courts Friday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, January 15.
The tournament is sponsored by Discover Albany, the Albany Capital Center and the True Pickleball Club.

New Bennington tire shop celebrates grand opening

A new tire shop is opening in Bennington, Vermont.
VIP Tires & Service celebrates its grand opening Thursday morning at an old Hyundai dealership on Phyllis Lane.
This is the store’s 67th location.
The store is offering discounts on oil changes for the next several weeks and donating money to local schools.

The first step is to sign up for the exam by January 17.

Hawthorne Valley Farmscape in Ghent, Columbia County is hosting a free lecture next Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. on the importance of ants. It’s called “The Little Things That Run the World.”
