Governor Hochul establishes veteran nonprofit capital program
Veterans Day is to honor all those who have served in our U.S. armed forces.
Originally called Armistice Day, it marks the anniversary of the end of major hostilities in world war one, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, at the 11th hour.
A $5 million grant is announced to help organizations helping veterans.
It’s New York’s new veterans’ nonprofit capital program.
Eligible nonprofit veterans organizations can now apply for reimbursement for costs related to capital improvements.
The idea is to help them expand and enhance quality services for veterans and their families.
