Governor Hochul signs legislation for expanding compensation eligibility for crime victims and survivors

Governor Hochul signed legislation for expanding compensation eligibility for crime victims and survivors.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed legislation to expand eligibility to victim compensation funds for victims and survivors.

Hochul said it removes the requirement for victims to provide documentation from law enforcement in order to be eligible.

It also expands the window of time in which a victim can file a claim.

Governor Hochul says the legislation will support New Yorkers in their time of need and ensure they receive the benefits they deserve.
