Governor Kathy Hochul was at the Albany International Airport Thursday to provide updates on the $230 million she pledged towards airports in upstate New York last year.

A total of $60 million will go towards modernizing Albany’s air hub, which is the oldest municipal airport in the entire country.

The Governor believes the airport is in need of an upgrade, as the facility was in built in 1928.

Hochul also stated that this modernization will make Albany International a more welcoming place for people to experience as they enter the Capital Region.
