Grafton man accused of setting fire that spread to his apartment building

A man from Grafton is charged with arson, accused of setting a fire that spread to his apartment building.

Paul Coleman is charged with arson and reckless endangerment.

Coleman set fire to a detached garage near his apartment building on Route 2, destroying the building early Friday morning, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office said.

The apartment building was also damaged.

Eight people sleeping there got out without being hurt.

Coleman was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
