A fire that broke out in Green Island on Thursday evening was accidental, according to investigators, caused by smoking materials found in the garbage.

A husband, wife, children, parents, uncle, and aunt were all displaced. One of the victims includes an elderly woman flown to a burn unit, according to her son.

She is in stable but critical condition.

Sadly, several cats inside the home were killed.
