Groups plan to protest tax abatement for Costco

The Guilderland industrial development agency Wednesday will consider a higher tax abatement for the proposed Costco on Western Avenue.

In a public hearing Wednesday, the agency will also consider eminent domain to take town roads for the proposed superstore.
Several local organizations are planning to protest the moves – saying eminent domain was not designed to benefit a private corporation.
The protest will be held at Guilderland town hall, ahead of the public hearing at seven.
