Guilderland PD: Robbery arrest after Hampton Inn incident on Western Ave

The Guilderland Police Department made two arrests from a robbery that happened at the Hampton Inn on 1442 Western Avenue on Saturday morning.

The robbery happened around 3:00 a.m.

Police say the victim of the crime stated he was meeting a female that he met on a dating website.

When the victim entered the room at the Hampton Inn, there was another male in the room with the female, who displayed what was thought to be a handgun towards the victim, demanding money.

Authorities say the victim gave money to the female using a payment app and left the room, followed by calling the police.

Police evacuated all adjacent rooms at the hotel out of an abundance of caution.

Police took both male and female suspects, Kristina A. Eaves, 22, Buffalo, and Lawrence R. Colbert, 26, Buffalo, out of the room and into custody without incident.

Eaves was charged with petit larceny and first-degree robbery.

Colbert was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree menacing, and petit larceny.

Guilderland PD says both were arraigned in the Town of Guilderland Court and sent to Albany County Correctional Facility.
