Gun shown to driveway shooting trial jurors
The jury in the trial of the man accused of shooting and killing Kaylin Gillis in his Washington County driveway last April got to see the shotgun used on Wednesday morning.
Kevin Monahan, 66, is charged with second-degree murder.
State Police Investigator Koby Gabler was back on the stand Wednesday morning to continue testimony about the evidence collected at the Monahan home in Hebron. The 20-gague shotgun was found by the bed.
Gabler explained the process to collect fingerprints. He did not find any fingerprints on the handle of the shotgun.
On cross-examination, defense attorney Arthur Frost asked Gabler if it was possible not to find any latent fingerprints on the handle of the gun. He said yes.
They also showed the bullet hole in the Ford Explorer that Gillis’ boyfriend Blake Walsh was driving. The round was found under the seat.
Frost also made an issue of what was found in the car. The teens had alcohol, marijuana and other items.
