Historic Fort Plain fountain running again after vandalism

An historic fountain is flowing once again in Fort Plain’s Haslett Park.

A vandal ripped down the entire heavy crown and snapped off a cast-iron bird at the bottom last summer.

People offered reward money and anonymous tips, and police arrested a juvenile.

This is much more than a fountain to many residents, with a special place in childhood and family memories.
