Gov. Kathy Hochul announced new legislation to regulate unhealthy social media usage by prohibiting minors from accessing addictive feeds without parental consent.

The governor is also calling on social media companies to strengthen platform moderation and remove hateful material.

Psychologists encourage parents to have nightly conversations, be curious, and if you hear someone speaking disparagingly, speak up and don’t let it happen.
