Hochul signs bill to help student loan debt relief

It will soon be easier for more teachers and faculty to apply for student loan forgiveness.
Gov. Hochul introduced a measure Thursday meant to expand the student debt relief program that benefits public service workers.
The governor says she wants more people to apply for the loan forgiveness program before it lapses on October 31.
It applies to public sector workers, including health care workers, police, firefighters and teachers.
