Hochul touts state economic recovery from pandemic

Hochul touts state economic recovery from pandemic. A total of 100 percent private sector jobs has come back.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday touted the fact that New York has recovered all the jobs that were lost since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state has more than 8.3 million private sector jobs.

Growth was driven by key sectors such as private education and health services, leisure and hospitality and professional and business services, Hochul said in a statement.

“With jobs at an all-time high across the state, New York’s economy hasn’t just recovered – it’s been completely transformed,” Hochul said in a statement.

She cited initiatives such as the $1 billion Small Business Rescue Plan and the $450 million “Bring Back Tourism, Bring Back Jobs” as being instrumental in the recovery.
