It’s an opportunity to help out, if you have a little extra to give this holiday season.
Starting at 9 a.m., Santa Claus is scheduled to ride along with the Menands fire department.
The Santa and the Grinch’s route around the village will make stops to collect new and unwrapped toys for the toys-for-tots charity campaign.
Then later Sunday, a northern convoy for Capital Region toys-for-tots will be out on the tracks.
The convoy begins in Champlain, New York, and will make several stops at schools and sheriff’s offices.
The last stop will be at the Washington County sheriff’s office, in Fort Edward.
At each stop, children can visit with Santa, eat some cookies, get a stocking stuffer, and a blanket.
