A Berkshire County woman says she lost around $700 after falling for the latest National Grid scam.
This was first reported by the Berkshire Eagle.
The woman says she paid the money to people claiming to work for National Grid after they threatened to shut off power to her home if she didn’t pay up right away.
The caller told her a technician was on their way to turn off their power, convincing the woman to pay up.
National Grid is reminding customers they do not threaten immediate termination of service or accept payment with wire transfers or prepaid cards.
