Veterans and first responders were treated to a special appreciation event at Hudson Valley Community College on September 10.

The school’s Department of Athletics and Veteran Resource and Outreach Center (VETROC) hosted its fourth annual event, with a free barbecue and football game.

Lunch was provided for active and retired military, first responders, and their families. Organizers tell us events like these can strengthen or even create important connections.

During halftime, the athletic department presented a school military appreciation award to the Hicksstrong Family Foundation for the work it does connecting service members with therapists to find the support they need.
