Investigators: Girl, 15, makes threat against Fort Plain school
A 15-year-old girl was arrested on Thursday for allegedly making a threat to commit violence against Fort Plain Junior-Senior High School.
The school resource officer received information about an anonymous threat involving weapons and violence toward the school. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Plain Police Department investigated the incident and discovered that the call was made by a teen, they said.
The teen admitted to police that she made a prank call. She was taken to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and charged with making a threat of mass harm. She received an appearance ticket and she and her mother are due to appear to probation officers at a later date.
The girl is not a student at the school but has friends at the school, according to police.
Additional police responded to the scene out of an abundance of caution. At no time, were there any credible threats against the school, police said.
