A local high school hoops legend will be immortalized in Glens Falls on Friday.
Joseph Girard III’s jersey will be retired at Glens Falls High School.
The special ceremony is happening at around 6:30 p.m. after the Glens Falls boys junior varsity game against South Glens Falls.
Girard’s iconic No. 11 jersey will go up in the rafters at the gym, where it will forever hang.
Girard currently plays professionally overseas in Europe, but he will be back for the ceremony.
He will join fellow Glens Falls basketball legend Jimmer Fredette as the only players in the city’s history to have their jerseys retired.
Chrystal Stone will be in Glens Falls for the ceremony. She’ll have coverage starting Live at 4 and on WNYT.com.
